What are CyberNut Teams?

This article describes why teams are important and how they work in CyberNut Admin.

Teams let you organize your staff by building, department, or school. Setting them up takes some upfront work in your Google or Microsoft environment, but it turns a single district-wide score, which tells you little about where your risk actually is, into a clear view of which groups are strong and which need attention.

What you can do with Teams

Once your teams are in place, you can:

  • Pinpoint your real exposure. Instead of one blended pass rate, you see how each building, department, or school is performing in your analytics dashboard, so you know where to focus.

  • Drive participation with team leaderboards. Compare teams against each other to build friendly competition and get staff engaging with training instead of ignoring it.

  • Send department-specific simulations. Assign each team scenarios that match their actual work, so the training feels relevant and is harder to dismiss.

Before you start

Teams in CyberNut are built from groups in your directory. Before you create a team, you need a dedicated Google Group or Microsoft 365 group for it in your own environment.

Create a separate group for each team. Follow the guide for your environment:

Setting up a team

  1. In Google or Microsoft, create a dedicated group for the team and add the relevant staff, using the guides above.
  2. In CyberNut, create the team and connect it to that group through Google directory sync or Microsoft Active Directory.
  3. When you build a phishing simulation campaign, select the team you want to assign email templates to.

Department-specific templates

We provide several thousand email templates that work across all departments, roles, and users. We also provide templates built for specific departments, for a more targeted experience:

  • Administrators
  • Finance
  • HR
  • IT
  • Student Services
  • Teachers
