What does "Processing" mean on Reported Threats?

The Processing tab is where reported threats go while CyberNut works through them. Each item on that tab shows a status: Pending, Analyzing, Complete, or Error.

The Processing tab is where reported threats go while CyberNut works through them. Each individual item on that tab shows its own status, and that status is what tells you what is actually happening: Pending, Analyzing, Complete, or Error.

The four statuses

Status What it means Do you need to do anything?
Pending The item is in the queue. Analysis has not started yet. No. It will start automatically.
Analyzing CyberNut is actively analyzing the item right now. No. Wait for it to finish.
Complete Analysis finished. Results are available on the case record. Review the results.
Error Analysis failed. Yes. See "If an item shows Error" below.

How long should this take?

Most items move from Pending through Analyzing to Complete within minutes. Volume, file size, and the type of content being analyzed all affect the time.

If an item has been sitting in Pending or Analyzing for more than 24 hours, treat it as stuck and contact CyberNut Support.

If an item shows Error

Error means analysis failed on that item. Before you see the Error status, the system has already tried on its own: CyberNut automatically retries a failed item up to three times. Error only appears after those automatic retries have been used.

When an item shows Error, you can retry it manually:

  1. Open the case record for the item.
  2. Select the manual retry action.
  3. The item returns to the queue and analysis starts again.

If the item errors a second time after your manual retry, contact CyberNut Support with the case ID. Do not keep retrying, because a repeat failure usually points to something support needs to look at directly.

Quick troubleshooting

An item has been Pending or Analyzing for a long time.
Refresh the page first, since the status does not always update live. If it still has not moved after  24 hours, contact Support with the case ID.

An item shows Error.
Use the manual retry action on the case record. If it errors again, contact Support.

An item disappeared from the Processing tab.
Completed items move to the associated tab when processed. Check there before reporting it as missing.

Everything on the tab looks stuck at once.
That pattern usually means a system-level issue rather than a problem with individual items. Contact Support rather than retrying each item.

Getting help

When you contact CyberNut Support about a stuck or failed item, include the case ID and the status shown. That lets us pull the processing history for that specific item immediately.
